WDHA Mission Statement
To improve the public’s total health, the mission of the Wyoming Dental Hygienists’ Association is to advance the art and science of dental hygiene by ensuring access to quality oral health care, increasing awareness of the cost-effective benefits of prevention, promoting the highest standards of dental hygiene education, licensure, practice and research, and representing and promoting the interest of dental hygienists.
2015-2016 WDHA Strategic Plan
Goal 1: Align WDHA with the charter agreement set forth by the ADHA
Review requirements of charter agreement with WDHA executive board
Collaborate with executive board, ADHA leadership, and district trustee to adjust policies, procedures, logos, etc. to reflect the requirements set forth by ADHA
Goal 2: Increase membership by 20%
Encourage new graduate participation by:
Attending and participating in hygiene college graduations
Following up with new graduates to assist in employment seeking
Encouraging hygiene college faculty to encourage membership
Leverage the anticipated CE requirement for licensure renewal for nonmembers to attend WDHA annual session and join
Implement and encourage participation in programs such as local study clubs, Give Kids a Smile, Special Olympics, etc.
Keep members informed on activities and actions of the WDHA through periodic emails.
Goal 3: Implement required continuing education for dental hygienists for licensure renewal
Gain awareness of and support for the requirement of mandatory continuing education from the public
Leverage the influence of the hygienist on the WBDE to keep the issue at the forefront of the board’s attention
Attend WBDE meetings and web conferences to express interest and intent of requiring mandatory CE for licensure renewal
If necessary and appropriate, contact policy makers, legislatures, and lobbyist with intent to require mandatory continuing education for licensure renewal
Goal 4: Become a fiscally sound, revenue generating organization.
Utilize website, Skype, and email for communications
Optimize registration and hotel discounts by registering ADHA delegate and alternate delegate as early as possible for CLL/Annual Session
Charge employers to advertise available positions on www.wyomingdha.org
Utilize Sheridan college campus and instructors for 2016 annual session
